What should I do if a Belizean national is detained?
Family members or individuals may contact the Consulate as soon as possible to report the situation. Please provide as much information as available, including the individual’s full name, date of birth, location of detention (if known), and any identification or case information.
Can the Consulate assist detained Belizean nationals?
The Consulate may provide limited consular assistance to Belizean nationals detained abroad, including welfare inquiries, communication assistance, and coordination regarding travel documentation when appropriate.
Please note that the Consulate cannot provide legal representation, intervene in judicial proceedings, or request special treatment from immigration or law enforcement authorities.
