In 2009, the Consulate of Belize in Florida opened an official office for the first time since Belize’s Independence. The Consulate of Belize is conveniently located in the commercial district of Coral Gables, which provides a range of services to Belizeans and foreigners. The Consulate of Belize in Florida’s day-to-day responsibilities are its Consular duties (Passports, Consular IDs, Emergency Travel Documents, Authentication of Documents and, recently, since June 20th, 2019, also Nationalities).

Additionally, the Consulate engages in the promotion of trade, investment, and tourism to Belize. It also focuses its efforts on reaching out to the Belizean Diaspora living in Florida. Lastly, a great deal of its work is dedicated to concierge services for GOB Officials traveling through Miami, the hub of all international and national travel.

The Consulate of Belize in Florida--as do all Consulates of Belize in the United States--falls under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of Belize in Washington, D.C. along with other Belizean Consulates, of which all report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belize.
